Coronavirus Update
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic the NHS has asked GPs to run a TOTAL TRIAGE appointment system until further notice. This is important to reduce avoidable footfall in the practices and protect patients and staff from the risks of infection.
All patients requesting an appointment will be managed remotely (online, phone, video). Patients will be seen face to face only in exceptional circumstances.
Please ring the surgery at 8.30am to arrange an appointment.
Appointment System
At Ling House Medical Centre, we aim to provide our patients with rapid access to professional medical advice. To achieve this, we operate a telephone triage service for all appointment requests.
Telephone the surgery appointments line on 01535 605747 from 8.30am onwards, on the day you require an appointment. The Receptionist will ask for your contact details and a description of your problem and will place you on the triage list.
A GP or Advanced Clinical Practitioner will telephone you back; usually within 60 minutes, however at certain times this may take up to two hours. Please tell the Receptionist if you think the problem is an emergency, so that GP or Advanced Practitioner can speak to you urgently.
If it is inconvenient for you to take a call at certain times, please tell the Receptionist when you will be available, and we will aim to accommodate this.
Please note that there are a finite number of appointments available, and these are released on a first come first served basis. You may have to ring back another day if the triage appointments are full. Pre bookable telephone appointments are also available.
You can also submit an eConsult via the home page if you require non urgent advice, have an administrative query, or wish to discuss your blood results.
If you have a medication query, or are due a medication review please book an appointment with our pharmacist.
Nurse and Health Care Assistant Appointments can be booked directly via reception.
Receptionists
When you ring us the receptionist will try to help you but they may need to ask a few questions to sort out the best way to do so. Please do not blame the receptionists if the doctor is running late for your appointment or if they are unable to offer you just what you want. Even if you are feeling stressed please do not take it out on the receptionist.
