LING HOUSE MEDICAL CENTRE IS A TEACHING PRACTICE
Ling House Medical Centre is linked with Leeds University School of Medicine and the staff here are helping to train our next generation of doctors. As part of this training there may be a student present with the doctor or nurse in your consultation.
Seeing patients is a vital part of their training. Medical Students follow the same standards in behaviour and confidentiality as your own GP.
However if you feel you would not be happy to have a student present please tell our reception staff and this can be arranged.
Thank you for your help, without your co-operation we would not be able to produce the doctors of the future.
GP Registrars
GP registrars are fully trained doctors, who are training to become GPs. They have previously worked in hospital, and come to Ling House for 6-12 months.
Foundation Year 2 Doctors
Foundation Year 2 doctors are qualified doctors who have hospital experience. They are at Ling House for 4 months.
Medical Students
We train first, second and fourth year medical students at the practice. Sometimes we have students sitting with us learning about general practice. We always ask your permission. Please feel free to say no.
Video Recording
This is done occasionally, you will be asked for consent beforehand. Intimate examinations are not filmed. It will be switched off on request. It is used to aid the doctors in improving their consultations. Videos would only be seen by those intending to help the doctor. If you want a recording rubbed off, please let us know.
